Kate Bulpitt grew up as a seaside lass (though spent more time writing stories and reading Smash Hits than enjoying the beach) before moving to London to study for a Writing & Publishing degree. She spent many years in the film industry, first in London and then New York, working in both talent management and them casting, the latter on such films as Elizabeth, United 93 and Robert De Niro’s The Good Shepherd. Oh, and the Spice Girls movie. Taking a break from films to focus on writing, she dabbled in stand-up comedy and sketch-writing at New York’s American Comedy Institute. She has now returned to the seaside, and resides in Brighton, where she is currently finishing a dystopian novel, Purple People.
